Helen Bradley

B App Science (Med Science); Grad Dip Ed (Spec Ed); B Science (Psych) Honors; Master Psychology (Clinical)

Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS)

I bring to Clinical Psychology my experience as a Medical Scientist and Educator, which allows me a broader understanding of your overall health and your individual difference in changing behaviour and reaching your goals.

My therapeutic approach is to provide a safe and non-judgemental environment for people to explore the difficulties they are facing. This includes working with people to develop greater insight into their own behaviour, and to better understand their relationships with others. By helping clients better understand themselves, I find we not only tackle their current problems, but it provides a framework by which my clients become more resilient, and better prepared to face any difficulty that may arise in the future.

I like to work with adults who find themselves in transition in one way or another. I find my clients are wanting to make change in their lives and are stuck on how to move forward. I believe knowing yourself, gaining insight into your own behaviours and having strategies to manage emotional turmoil is key. I work with people presenting with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety disorders, grief, loss, self-esteem and relationship distress. I have a special interest in working with trauma and practise a range of trauma focused treatments in which I have advanced qualifications. I have specialist qualifications in the disability sector.

I am comfortable supporting individuals with sexual difficulties particularly female sexual health.

My practice is LGBTIQ+ affirmative. I support people in exploring their preferred gender identification, including assisting with the transition process. I am part of a wider Gender Network with key connections in the field and I have contributed to research in the field.

I  have skills in trauma treatment including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). Additionally, I have skills in clinical hypnotherapy and mindfulness based practices. Many of my clients benefit from exploring these techniques as we seek to utilise the resources within them.

Stephnie Perera

Clinical Psychologist

I have completed a Master of Clinical Psychology and have studied a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

My approach focuses on providing a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic space for my clients to explore and to facilitate the process of deepening their understanding of their relationship with themselves, their thinking patterns, feelings, needs and their behaviour.

I focus on addressing clients’ individual needs and concerns, help them develop insight into the underlying reasons for their behaviours, and allow my clients to gain insight into their issues in a collaborative way.

I have supported clients with a range of mental health issues, including: depression, anxiety disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, anger issues, acculturation and adjustment issues, family relationship issues, work related stress, self-esteem issues, and grief and loss. I have special interest in working with parents and immigrants. No two clients experience therapy in the same way. I adopt an approach that is tailored to the individual client that encourages discovery, wondering and questioning in a space that is safe, calm and gentle
